Caserta – Strengthening dialogue between institutions, promoting a culture of legality, and building new synergies for the benefit of the region and younger generations. These are the objectives of the meeting between Father Salvatore Saggiomo, Guarantor of the rights of persons deprived of their personal liberty for the Province of Caserta, and the Provincial Commander of the Carabinieri, Colonel Federico Scarabello.
The Guarantor, accompanied by his collaborator Antonio Benedetto and the parish priest, Monsignor Gerardo Belzaino, made an official visit to the Provincial Headquarters of the Carabinieri in Caserta. The meeting was described as cordial and constructive, dedicated to institutional collaboration and a shared commitment to the good of the community.
The meeting represents a first step toward a collaborative approach across the region. Special attention will be paid to young people, preventing hardship, and disseminating the values of legality through initiatives that bring the younger generations closer to institutions and offer them concrete opportunities and support.
For the Guarantor, dialogue between institutions is essential to address social issues, strengthen citizens' trust, and promote a culture of responsibility and respect for the rules.
"I deeply believe in the value of collaboration between institutions. Legality is not only established through respect for the rules, but also through local presence, listening to people, and the ability to build shared paths, especially with young people," stated the Prison Ombudsman of the Province of Caserta.
"Preventing hardship and combating forms of deviance means investing in individual dignity and building a more aware and responsible community," he added.
The visit is part of the Guarantor's commitment to fostering a network of institutional and social relationships capable of contributing to the protection of rights, prevention, and the dissemination of a culture of legality. This commitment also considers the rehabilitative function of punishment and the need to prevent the conditions that can lead to marginalization and deviance.
Finally, the Guarantor expressed appreciation for the welcome received and the willingness to engage in dialogue, hoping that this initial meeting will lead to future opportunities for discussion and concrete initiatives benefiting the Caserta area.
"Legality is built together: through presence, listening, prevention, and collaboration between institutions," concludes the Guarantor.
