A Carabinieri roadblock
Naples – It was a busy night in Secondigliano, where a 22-year-old man was arrested by Carabinieri from the Naples Mobile Radio Unit after ignoring a stop order and attempting to evade arrest.
It all started along Corso Secondigliano, when a patrol ordered Davide Amato, who was riding a Piaggio Beverly scooter, to stop. The young man, already known to law enforcement, continued on, instead of stopping, sparking a chase that lasted about three kilometers.
During the ride, the officers lost sight of the motorcyclist for a few minutes. The search continued until, traveling along Via dello Stelvio, the Carabinieri came across a traffic accident.
The 22-year-old had crashed into another car. Fortunately, according to initial reports, his condition is not serious. The young man was rescued and taken to Cardarelli Hospital in Naples for treatment and necessary checks.
The investigation revealed that the boy had never held a driving license. The Piaggio Beverly was seized.
The 22-year-old was arrested on charges of reckless escape. Once released from the hospital, he will be transferred to court for the scheduled proceedings.
His position will be assessed by the judicial authority in compliance with the presumption of innocence until a final conviction.
