Ercolano: Two sisters seek help from the police and have their abusive father arrested.

Ercolano – Two sisters went to the Carabinieri station to ask for help while, according to reports, their father was attacking their mother. The request prompted the Ercolano police to intervene, who stopped and arrested a 42-year-old man, already known to law enforcement.

The 42-year-old is charged with domestic violence, assault, and resisting a public officer. During the intervention, he allegedly resisted, pushing the Carabinieri. He was then taken to prison, awaiting trial.

The story of years of violence

Testimonies from his wife and two daughters revealed a situation of violence and harassment that had lasted for years, and had never been reported before. The couple's third child, a ten-year-old, also lives in the home.
According to the women, the 42-year-old's drug-related demands for money repeatedly sparked arguments and assaults. The man allegedly demanded money from his wife to buy drugs, reacting violently when she refused.

At the time of the last episode, the one that prompted the two sisters to turn to the police, he was already under the influence of drugs.

Daughter shot while defending her mother

Among the incidents reported to the police is an assault that occurred in the days preceding his arrest. On that occasion too, according to witnesses, the 42-year-old allegedly asked his wife for money and, when she refused, struck her.
One of the daughters reportedly intervened to protect her mother, but was attacked herself. She fell to the ground and was kicked in the abdomen.

The man then allegedly pointed a knife at her. While trying to protect her face with her hands, the girl sustained injuries to her fingers.

The intervention and the arrest

The two sisters' plea for help allowed the Carabinieri to intervene and collect statements from the three women regarding the alleged abuse. The 42-year-old was arrested and transferred to prison. The charges will be determined in the court proceedings.
