The president of the Electoral Commission for the renewal of the Naples Bar Association has dissolved the reserve. There are 106 candidates for the Council and among them there are also the five who were considered non-candidates and ineligible because they had held the office of councilor for two consecutive years. Maurizio Bianco, the outgoing president, Armando Rossi, his main competitor, Roberto Fiore, Vincenzo Pecorella and Salvatore Impradice, will be able to be voted for by the 'army' of 14 thousand eligible voters who are called to the polls from next Monday until Saturday, in the Arengario room of the Naples Court from 9 to 13, to choose the new 25 councilors of the Neapolitan Order, among the most 'crowded' and important in Italy. The elections are however animated by strong controversy after the decision of the United Sections of the Court of Cassation which before Christmas had established in a sentence that anyone who had held the office of councilor for two consecutive years could not stand as a candidate. This decision was a cold shower for all the lawyers who had presented themselves for the renewals of the council positions. Not only in Naples, but in every Bar in Italy. The following week, the Minister of Justice Alfonso Bonafede intervened, with an urgent decree law urged by the 5 Star Movement and the League that could put an end to the long-standing issue. Thus the minister established that the law must be interpreted as expressed by the Cassation, and not to consider for the two mandates when one of these had a duration of less than 2 years, as in the case of Naples. But the point debated is precisely this, because even if the Order of the Bar of Naples lasted in office only one year, this was established by law.
