Naples, Barra's clans behind the mega-scam of fake checks. ALL THE NAMES

Naples. There are also figures linked to the Barra and Poggioreale Camorra clan among the 59 recipients of the precautionary orders issued yesterday in the maxi investigation into the fraud of false checks throughout Italy: in total, there are 67 people under investigation.

Among them is 39-year-old Vincenzo De Martino from Barra, believed to be the head of the group specializing in the forgery and production of checks, money orders and identity documents.

The gang had even created a virtual post office. A fake location complete with a fixed telephone. So when a bank clerk called to verify the validity of a check, instead of the post office, an accomplice answered. The deal was done.

The fake post office was located in Vigoleno , a hamlet in the municipality of Vernasca in the Piacenza area. It had a total of seven residents: the route was arduous, making it difficult to reach even by car. What's more, many of the suspects were IT and telecommunications experts.

The alleged promoter of the second conspiracy is a former telephone technician. The Prosecutor's Office has repeatedly examined his profile: he was able to isolate calls and divert them to other lines. This happened with some banks in the province of Naples , which still use analog communications.

The three organizations allegedly used Roma gangs in northern Italy, who purchased fake checks and identities. They specialized in this sector. Investigators consider them subgroups of the Neapolitans. Everything was connected. And each had a very specific role.
