

Netflix has definitively said stop to password sharing, a phenomenon now so widespread in our country and in the rest of the world that it has led the video streaming platform to this drastic decision. The ongoing tests have ended, the new rules for using the service will come into force by the end of this March. But what does this change mean in practice?
Simply put, from now on, sharing a Netflix account for free with one or more people outside of your household will no longer be permitted in any way.
For household means a group of people living in the same location as the account holder.
SHARING NETFLIX WITH THOSE OUTSIDE YOUR HOUSEHOLD
If you are not part of the household, you are now required to transfer your profile to a new account. The available plans are
It's possible change plan or cancel your subscription at any time. Netflix clarifies that it will not be charged automatically the fee if you share the account with someone who does not live with you.
In case of profile transfer, the following will not be lost: recommendations, viewing history (including ratings), My List, saved games, settings and miscellaneous information (name, icon, participation in tests). Payment data will not be transferred. The profile transfer function can also be used in case of adding an extra user.
By transferring your profile you become the owner of the new account, Netflix will keep “a backup copy of this profile on the original account".
By the end of March, it will no longer be possible to access a Netflix account if you do not belong to the same household. You will be faced with two options: create a new independent account by transferring your data as indicated in this article or remain connected to the same account after paying an additional fee.
However, this figure has not yet been disclosed: during the tests conducted to date, a 25% increase in the original rate was expected (the case of the Standard plan). If this were the case, each secondary account could cost between 4 euros for the Standard plan and 6 euros for the Premium plan.
