Naples prepares for the Christmas with the lighting of the lights, which will begin over the weekend. Mayor Gaetano Manfredi announced it, on the sidelines of the celebration of the Immaculate Conception.
The city is already full of tourists, according to the numbers provided by the mayor, who speaks of over 200 thousand visitors. "Today this long month of celebration begins a bit - added Manfredi - and Naples records very important numbers, there is a great crowding".
To cope with the influx of visitors, the Municipality has increased transportation and cleaning services. Reinforced services have also been launched, with stuarts to accompany tourists in the most critical areas. The Municipality has also increased the number of public toilets.
“We have tried to progressively strengthen the entire organization – Manfredi highlighted – it is a progressive work to be done because Naples has now become a great tourist city on a global level: just think that over 50 percent of the presences are foreigners and we must live up to this new vocation of the city that I hope will continue strongly in the coming years”.
Christmas lights will illuminate the city from December 10th
The lights, made by a Neapolitan company, will be turned on starting December 10. They will be installed in all the main streets and squares of the city, creating a magical and festive atmosphere.
Mayor Manfredi invited citizens and tourists to experience Christmas in Naples, a city rich in history, culture and traditions.
