The sea control services ordered by the Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, within the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety, through the Port Authority of Naples and the Police Forces, in particular the Roan of the Guardia di Finanza and the Metropolitan Police of Naples, continue.
A few hours ago, a joint intervention by the Coast Guard and the Metropolitan Police allowed the rescue of four yachtsmen aboard a vessel in distress near the Gaiola and Trentaremi bays.
During patrol activities in Gaiola Bay in Marechiaro and Trentaremi Bay near Nisida, the patrol boats sighted a vessel in distress and in a state of sinking.
The pilot boat was located in a small inlet opposite the area closed to the passage of boats, and was gradually sinking.
Thanks to the timely intervention of the Metropolitan Police dinghy, the four boaters aboard the damaged pilot boat were rescued. The Coast Guard immediately picked up the four people and, escorting them to the port, transported them to the hospital for routine checks.
The rescue operation represents an effective example of coordination between the various forces in the field, demonstrating the importance of sea control services to ensure safety in the area. Constant monitoring of marine areas and prompt interventions are essential to prevent and address emergency situations such as the one that occurred a few hours ago.
