Clashes between footballers and managers in Casapesenna and Mondragone City: 10 Daspos issued

The Prima Categoria play-off final between Casapesenna and Mondragone City, destined to decide the promotion to Eccellenza last May, was marred by a furious brawl.

The clash, which broke out during extra time, involved players and officials from both teams, forcing the referee to suspend the match.

Three Mondragone City players ended up in the hospital, while the police intervened to calm things down. The investigations, conducted by the Casal di Principe Police Station and supported by images from the Scientific Police, allowed the culprits to be identified.

The Police Chief of Caserta has issued a 17-year ban on 4 Casapesenna players and 5 players and a manager of Mondragone City, banning them from all Italian sports facilities, from amateur football to Serie A.

The sports justice has imposed sanctions on the clubs and disqualifications on the players involved, assigning the victory by default to Casapesenna who, thanks to this unfortunate episode, will access the higher category.
