Cinemagma inaugurates the new season on January 8th at the Sala Moliére in Pozzuoli

The fifth edition of "Cinemagma" will take place from January 8th to February 5th, 2025, bringing a selection of independent films to the public. The festival will take place every Wednesday at 8:30 pm at the Sala Molière theater in Pozzuoli, directed by Nando Paone, near the Pozzuoli/Solfatara metro station. Admission is free, allowing a wide audience to attend the screenings. Organized by film historian Giuseppe Borrone, the festival aims to promote emerging talent in Italian cinema through short films and underground works.

Awards and Jury

A jury of experts will be in charge of awarding prizes for the best short film, actor, actress and editing. The jury will be chaired by Giovanni Dota, accompanied by members such as Miriam Candurro, Adele Pandolfi, Davide Franco and Ilaria Urbani. In addition, the public will have the opportunity to actively participate by voting for the audience award. During the first four evenings, 16 short films will be presented and debates and interviews with the protagonists will be organized.

Program and Finalists

During the event, the finalist short films will be screened, including titles such as “L'acquario” by Gianluca Zonta and “Arctichoke – A mermaid not a punk” by Salvatore Rocco. The awards ceremony will take place on February 5, concluding the festival with the preview of the documentary “Pret' a mmare” by Francesco Guardascione, a tribute to the city of Pozzuoli.
