Carinaro, illegal workshop in the basement of a house: seizure triggered

Carabinieri from the Gricignano di Aversa station discovered a mechanical workshop set up in the basement of a private residence in Carinaro (CE). The operation, which took place on September 22, led to the registration of a 60-year-old man under investigation for unauthorized waste management and uncontrolled storage of hazardous and non-hazardous special waste.

Inside the premises, approximately 20 motorcycles undergoing repair were found, along with a significant quantity of materials: approximately 500 kilograms of engines and mechanical parts, an additional 100 kilograms of waste material, 15 liters of used oil, 23 motorcycle batteries, and 18 worn-out tires, as well as various equipment used in the repairs.

The waste management found was the subject of particular scrutiny, with some items classified as potentially hazardous. Following the inspection, the premises and all items found were seized.

At the same time, administrative fines totaling €10.000 were imposed, and the judicial authorities were notified to take appropriate action. This action is part of the Carabinieri's enforcement activities aimed at combating irregular waste management and identifying businesses operating without authorization, with particular attention to the risks associated with the abandonment of potentially hazardous materials.

The accused person's position remains under review by the judicial authorities and will be determined in the subsequent phases of the proceedings, respecting the presumption of innocence until a final sentence is reached.
