Naples is gearing up for an artistic event that promises to shake up the art world’s certainties, with the launch of a book that explores Caravaggio’s tumultuous interior life in a boldly direct and academically uncluttered way.

On Wednesday 8 May 2024, at 16.00:1 pm, the Sala Rari of the National Library of Naples – located in the majestic Royal Palace in Piazza del Plebiscito n°XNUMX – will host the presentation of the book Caravaggio. The Portal to reach God. The author, Antonello Di Pinto, known for his research on the Lombard Master, will lead an afternoon dedicated to the raw and passionate examination of the life, art and spiritual dimension of the painter, without mincing words.
During the event, Di Pinto will announce an ambitious cultural initiative, realized in partnership with Stefano Colucci, President of the XVII Art Commission of the Parliamentary Intergroup for the Development of the South. This project will involve an army of scholars, research institutes, foundations, academies of fine arts and restorers, promising an innovative and unprejudiced approach to valorize the Italian artistic heritage, without paying attention to the usual conventions.
