Maradona Stadium: green light for monitoring of works on the third tier

Naples – The Naples City Council today approved the monitoring and redevelopment plan for the third tier of the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium . The amendment, presented by Councilor Nino Simeone , chairman of the Infrastructure Committee, provides:

• Structural assessment of the roof and third ring

• Planning of the interventions necessary for full usability

• Accelerated timelines to ensure safety and functionality

" This is a crucial step ," Simeone explained . " We want to ensure maximum safety and enhance one of Italy's most iconic venues, strategic not only for sport but also for major cultural events ."

The councilor then underlined the commitment of the Administration led by Mayor Gaetano Manfredi : “ We are keeping the promises made to the city, working with vision and concreteness to make Naples live up to its ambitions .”

The stadium , already the beating heart of Neapolitan football, could thus return to being an international showcase , ready to host not only matches but also concerts and highly attractive events.

• Presentation of the executive project within the next few months

• Final goal : reopen the third ring to increase capacity and host major events
