Sunday will be marked by heat and good weather across almost the entire country thanks to the action of the North African anticyclone that is determining stable conditions and fully summery temperatures. Here, in detail, are the forecasts for today divided by geographical area:

NORTHERN ITALY
Morning with skies generally covered by clouds especially over Liguria and north of the Po River. Possible localized showers over Alto Adige and the Lombard Alps. In the afternoon, residual instability over the central-eastern Alps and Prealps, in particular over the Triveneto, with showers and brief thunderstorms. Improving in the evening with clear or partly cloudy skies over much of the North.
Temperature: stable or slightly increasing, with highs around 30-32°C.
Winds: weak or moderate from the south-east.

CENTRAL ITALY

The beginning of the week will still be dominated by high pressure, with stable and sunny weather throughout the country. Between Monday and Tuesday, a temporary drop in temperatures in the South and along the Adriatic coast due to north-westerly currents should be noted.

But a new spike in temperatures is expected from mid-week: another wave of African heat could hit Italy with new peaks close to 40°C.
