The Prefect of Naples, Michele Di Bari
Napoli – The prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, firmly condemns the episode that occurred last July 12 in Scampia, where a group of people attempted to illegally occupy the social housing of an elderly woman, attacking the woman and her family members who came to her aid.
In an official note, the prefect expresses "full solidarity with the family victim of this brutal violence" and underlines "the constant commitment of the institutions to protect the right to housing and combat all forms of illegality."
The prefecture highlights that the Scampia area is subjected to "special police controls" to guarantee safety and support the ongoing urban redevelopment and regeneration programme, aimed at improving liveability and services for citizens.
