The pedestrian path to Marina Piccola has reopened.
SOrrento – The pedestrian path connecting Marina Piccola to the beach resorts and the elevator that leads from the municipal park to the port was reopened this morning.
The route had been closed last March to allow the start of the redevelopment works foreseen by the urban regeneration plan financed with funds Pnrr for a total of 2 million euros.
The work, temporarily suspended for the summer season, will resume on September 1st and aims to enhance the entire area behind the beach facilities. The project includes resurfacing the beach, modernizing the utilities and lighting system, installing surveillance cameras, and securing the tuff cliff.
Once completed, the project will also provide a direct connection between the port and the archaeological area beneath the Syrene Hotel, providing residents and tourists with a safer and more accessible public space.
