SArno – A brutal attack, an escape attempt, and a swift arrest. It all happened in the space of a few hours in Sarno, where a 26-year-old Moroccan man, with an illegal immigration status in Italy, stabbed two twin brothers, both Moroccans, while they slept. The incident, triggered by trivial motives according to initial reconstructions, occurred yesterday morning.
The victim suffered deep cuts to the head and was taken to the hospital. After the attack, the twins, in a panic, managed to escape into the street where they were rescued by passersby, who immediately alerted 118 and the police.
Officers from the Sarno Police Station responded promptly to the crime scene. After gathering initial testimonies, they launched a manhunt that concluded within hours. The alleged suspect attacker He was tracked down and stopped while waiting for a train to Naples at the Circumvesuviana station in Sarno.
During the personal search, damning evidence was found on the 26-year-old: a large kitchen knife with a 23-centimeter blade, still on him, and a significant quantity of narcotics.
Specifically, the officers seized approximately 55 grams of drugs, some of which had already been divided into doses and were therefore ready for sale, and 23 benzodiazepine pills, anti-anxiety drugs whose abuse as a psychotropic substance is unfortunately widespread.
The man, who was previously untraceable in Italy, was subsequently arrested. The magistrates ordered a summary trial, and the young man was taken to the Court of Nocera Inferiore to face trial. He faces charges of attempted aggravated murder, illegal possession of a knife, and possession of narcotics with intent to distribute.
The incident has shocked the community of Sarno, where investigations are continuing to reconstruct the precise dynamics and motive of the attack.
