Avellino, chaos at the bus station: union denounces degradation and lack of supervision.

Avellino– The situation at the Avellino bus station is back in the spotlight, having been the subject of a public complaint in recent days by the Orsa Autotrasporti union, which reported conditions of "anarchy and abandonment" in the area, also documented in a video posted online.

A critical issue which, according to the union, arises daily and at all hours, with direct repercussions on drivers and users of public transport, particularly the Air Campania service.

The issue has resurfaced with renewed force following yesterday evening's incident, when a 13-year-old girl, a resident of Mercogliano, was struck by a motorcycle near the bus station. She was rushed to Moscati Hospital in Avellino, but later that night, due to the severity of her injuries, she was airlifted to Santobono Children's Hospital in Naples.

For Orsa Autotrasporti, this is yet another confirmation of a situation described as "out of control," characterized—according to the press release—by widespread violations of the Highway Code and a substantial lack of supervision.
Among the critical issues reported is the management of spaces during the evening hours, when the bus station area is transformed into an illegal parking lot, with cars obstructing bus traffic and even preventing vehicles and employees from exiting at the end of the service.

The union is blaming the lack of regulation of the area, calling out the company, the municipal administration, and law enforcement, and urging immediate action to ensure minimum safety conditions.
