The latest case, reported to Green-Left Alliance MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli, concerns a video dedicated to Silvestro Pellecchia, considered by investigators to be one of the most dangerous members of the Sequino clan from the Sanità district, currently in prison. In the video, the man is praised with explicit messages such as: "Come home soon, go lion, I'm waiting only for you."

The blood connection with the feud of the paranze

Pellecchia isn't just any name in the Neapolitan news: he's the maternal uncle of Emanuele Tufano, the 15-year-old boy tragically shot dead on Corso Umberto I on the night between October 23 and 24, 2024, the victim of a clash between youth gangs. This detail makes the clan's social media glorification even more dramatic, highlighting the disconnect between the apologia for the underworld and the price paid in blood by the bosses' own families.

MP Borrelli spoke harshly about the matter, describing it as an "aberrant" phenomenon that requires immediate action:

We are facing a cultural and social short circuit that is boiling the blood. These individuals are smuggled on social media as "lions" or martyrs, but the historical and judicial truth tells us that they are failures who produce only death and destruction. The glorification of figures linked to the Sequino clan is even more serious considering that this very criminal and family context was the backdrop to the tragic end of young Emanuele Tufano. What future do these role models point to for our youth? Prison or the cemetery.

The appeal to the State: obscure the profiles of propaganda

While the judiciary and law enforcement continue to make progress on the judicial front—as demonstrated by the recent first-instance convictions for those responsible for the shooting that killed the fifteen-year-old—the issue of the clans' digital communications remains unresolved.

According to Borrelli, the state can no longer tolerate the unrestrained continuation of Camorra propaganda on digital platforms, normalizing evil. Hence the call for drastic regulatory and technical intervention: the immediate blocking of these profiles and rigorous tracking of those who, even from inside prisons, manage to spread messages to the outside world.
