Herculaneum is gearing up for a weekend packed with cultural events and free tours of the Archaeological Park, one of Italy's most fascinating UNESCO World Heritage sites. On Friday, July 31st, from 20:00 PM to midnight, "I Venerdì di Ercolano" (Fridays in Herculaneum) returns, the ninth annual festival that transforms the ancient ruins into an open-air theater. This year's theme, "Love and War," accompanies seven site-specific performances taking place among the site's illuminated domus, offering visitors an immersive, multisensory experience.

Park Director Federica Colaiacomo emphasizes the growing public enthusiasm and the importance of making archaeological heritage a living space that engages with contemporary art. Tickets are available online, and residents and visitors under 25 receive a reduced price, while admission is free for minors and accompanied disabled visitors.

On Sunday, August 2nd, as part of "Domenica al Museo," admission to the park will be free all day, with no reservations required, allowing a wider audience to discover the remains of this city buried by Vesuvius.
