NAPLES – The team is back at work, but the heart of the city is already celebrating. While Napoli completes its move to Castel di Sangro for the second half of their summer training camp, the Campania capital is preparing for 48 hours of celebrations for the club's centenary, with a program that promises to involve around half a million people.
After their training camp in Dimaro, the Azzurri resume training in Abruzzo with Massimiliano Allegri reuniting with several players returning from international duty, including Scott McTominay, Mathías Olivera, and Noa Lang. Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne will join the group in the coming days, while Alessandro Buongiorno remains unavailable, still recovering from meniscus surgery.
The celebrations will begin on Friday, July 31, with an event organized by the fan associations, entitled "100 Years of Love 1926-2026." The event will take place in Piazza dei Martiri, where a procession will begin, reaching the Rotonda Diaz on the seafront. Some of Napoli's former glories will take to the stage, recounting the stories that shaped the club's history. There will also be an exhibition featuring 100 giant photographs of the club's most significant moments, a display of historic jerseys, and a space entirely dedicated to Diego Armando Maradona, described by the organizers as "the legend who made Naples immortal."
The following day, Napoli will lead the celebrations with the "Napoli Cento" event, transforming the city center into a vast stage dedicated to sport, music, art, and culture. The events will kick off at 7:26 PM, a time chosen as a symbolic reference to the club's founding year, in Piazza Carità, a place traditionally considered the cradle of Napoli Calcio.
The demonstration will be attended by President Aurelio De Laurentiis, Campania Regional President Roberto Fico, Mayor Gaetano Manfredi, Prefect Michele Di Bari, and Police Commissioner Maurizio Agricola. The "Blue Procession" will depart from Piazza Carità and reach Piazza del Plebiscito, where the official centennial ceremony will take place.
Artists, musicians, actors, and many historic Napoli icons will take turns performing on stage, while a journey through images, testimonials, and multimedia content will retrace a century of excitement and success. Four current players are also expected to participate, traveling to Naples directly from their training camp in Castel di Sangro to take part in the celebratory evening.
