Salerno, anti-drug raid on the seafront: hashish and crack cocaine seized; three charges filed.

Drug dealing is being cracked down on in the city's most tourist-oriented areas. Yesterday evening, Wednesday, July 29th, officers from the Special Operations Unit (NOS) of the Local Police carried out a major crime raid on the Lungomare promenade, dismantling a well-established illegal operation.

The operation was launched as part of the ongoing intensification of local monitoring efforts, ordered by the Command's leadership to address the critical issues associated with the summer season. Investigative and patrol activities allowed officers to identify suspicious activity on the busiest streets, leading to a targeted intervention.

During the raid, officers found and seized a large quantity of drugs, specifically hashish and crack cocaine, ready to be distributed on the nightlife market. The operation led to the arrest of three foreign nationals. They were immediately picked up and taken to the Police Command offices for identification and photo identification.

After the formal procedures were completed, the three were charged with possession of narcotics. However, the enforcement of the law doesn't stop there: the Command announced that the NOS will continue its rigorous checks and maintain maximum alert along the entire coastline throughout the summer season.
