The victim Simona Grosso
More than a year after the death of Simona Grosso, the 32-year-old from Naples who died on June 7, 2025, in a Paris hospital after giving birth to her second daughter, her family continues to demand the truth. Her parents and brother report that they still lack official information on the cause of death and lament their inability to obtain the medical documentation necessary to fully clarify the matter.
The Rome Public Prosecutor's Office is currently investigating the case, and, according to the family's lawyer, they are having significant difficulties obtaining documents from the French authorities.
Attorney Francesco Petruzzi, who represents the young woman's family, emphasizes how the delay in submitting the documentation represents a significant obstacle to establishing the facts.
According to the lawyer, more than a year after the tragedy, the Rome prosecutor's office has still not been able to obtain either the medical records or the post-autopsy report, documents essential to accurately reconstructing what happened.
Her brother, Giuseppe Grosso, is reconstructing the last days of Simona's life.
The woman was admitted to the Institut Sarah Maternité Catholique in Paris on May 28, 2025, for a cesarean section. Serious complications arose during the procedure, necessitating her emergency transfer to Necker Hospital.
At the Parisian hospital, the 32-year-old underwent further surgery for severe internal bleeding. From that moment, her condition remained critical until her death on June 7, 2025, a few days after the birth of her daughter, who is now one year old.
The family claims they never had access to the medical documents produced by the two French hospitals.
"All the information we received was communicated to us verbally only," says Giuseppe Grosso, explaining that the lack of official documentation is preventing the family from understanding the true causes of his sister's death.
French law reportedly allows the release of medical records and autopsy reports exclusively to the woman's partner, the father of the couple's two children, who resides in France.
The family's request: "We just want to know the truth."
The family's goal remains to obtain all medical records relating to Simona's hospitalization and the care she received.
"We want to know the truth and determine any responsibilities," reiterates the young woman's brother, who, together with his parents, continues to demand full transparency in a matter that, more than a year later, remains shrouded in mystery.
