A fight between youths that occurred overnight in Piazza Papa Giovanni XXIII, Trani, resulted in a bloody scene. An 18-year-old man, originally from Andria, was seriously injured during the clash between two opposing groups.
According to initial reports, the victim was stabbed in the back. The alarm was raised by doctors at the Trani emergency room, who notified the Carabinieri after taking the young man into care.
The eighteen-year-old was initially rescued and transported to the Trani local hospital. His condition necessitated transfer to the Bisceglie hospital, where he died shortly thereafter.
The paramedics found a wound on his back that, according to initial investigations, was consistent with that caused by a cutting weapon.
Investigations conducted by the Carabinieri traced the injury to the brawl that broke out in Piazza Papa Giovanni XXIII. Two groups of youths were believed to have engaged in battle: one from Trani and the other from Andria. The victim belonged to the group that had arrived from Andria.
The Carabinieri are now tasked with reconstructing the exact dynamics of the fight and determining who struck the eighteen-year-old. Investigators are gathering all the necessary information to clarify what happened that night, including the locations of the other youths involved in the fight.
The goal is to reconstruct the stages of the fight, identify any perpetrators of the attack, and determine the exact dynamics that turned a brawl between youths into a tragedy.
