Escape and pursuit in Casaluce: 37-year-old reported with drugs and a switchblade

Casaluce – A routine territorial patrol turned into a significant operation for the Carabinieri of the Aversa Company. On the afternoon of Friday, July 31, during a checkpoint in Casaluce, a patrol from the Operations and Radiomobile Unit ordered a car to stop.

The driver, a 37-year-old resident of San Marcellino, attempted to evade control by accelerating sharply, sparking a brief chase. The car was safely stopped after a few meters without causing any accidents or injuries.

A search of the man's person and vehicle revealed two doses of cocaine and eight doses of crack, weighing approximately 3,4 grams in total, hidden inside a cigarette pack in his fanny pack. During the investigation, an 18-centimeter switchblade was also found, allegedly being carried without justification.

The drugs and knife were seized and filed by the Carabinieri, pending their filing with the Crime Records Office. The 37-year-old was charged at large with possession of narcotics with intent to distribute and with unauthorized possession of a weapon or object capable of causing harm. The matter is now being assessed by the competent Judicial Authority.
