Alvignano: 31-year-old found with a knife near the church, reported by the Carabinieri

Yesterday afternoon in Alvignano, Carabinieri officers from the local station responded to a report to the 112 emergency number regarding a person in a state of agitation near the church of San Sebastiano. Upon arriving, officers located a 31-year-old Moroccan man, legally resident in Italy, in possession of a kitchen knife with a 16-centimeter blade hidden in his waistband.

The man was charged at liberty with unauthorized possession of a weapon, and the weapon was immediately seized. Given his agitated state, emergency medical personnel were called, who arranged for the 31-year-old to be transferred to the Psychiatry Department of Sessa Aurunca Hospital for assessment and treatment.

The Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere has been informed and the investigation is continuing under the direction of the Carabinieri of Alvignano.
