Campania, over €145 million to revolutionize the Integrated Water Service: a safer and more digital network.

The Integrated Water Service in Campania has received €145 million in funding for strategic projects on infrastructure, digitalization, and climate resilience, bringing the total investment to over €350 million.

A significant investment of over €145 million has been allocated to the Integrated Water Service operators in Campania through the recent provision of the SFNIISSI, a financial instrument of the PNRR managed by Invitalia for the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.

These funds will be used to reduce water losses, digitize networks, secure systems, and strengthen the resilience of water systems in the face of climate change.

Among the beneficiaries, GORI SpA leads the list with almost 100 million euros, followed by ASIS Salernitana Reti e Impianti with 27,3 million and Ausino SpA with 18,5 million, for a total of 145,7 million for the region.

This amount is in addition to the €205 million allocated to the Campania Region for the use of water from the Campolattaro reservoir and the enhancement of water supplies in the Benevento area. Overall, the Campania water sector can count on an investment of over €350 million, signaling the beginning of a new phase for more efficient, safe, and sustainable infrastructure.

Luca Mascolo, president of the Campania Water Authority, emphasized that this result is the fruit of solid planning shared between the EIC, operators, and institutions.

"These resources will accelerate network modernization, reduce losses, promote digitalization, and increase the resilience of the water system. Institutional collaboration is key to an efficient and sustainable service, capable of addressing future challenges," said Mascolo.

The funding represents a crucial step towards ensuring water security, resource protection, and supporting regional development in Campania, strengthening the regional water system at a time of growing need for innovation and sustainability.
