Casavatore arrested for drug paraphernalia and arsenal in greengrocer's garage

Casavatore – An unsuspecting business owner turned custodian of a veritable arsenal and a stash of narcotics. This was discovered by officers from the Naples Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza during a targeted economic control operation in the area and the fight against drug trafficking, intensified during the summer season.

Control in the fruit and vegetable shop

The operation, coordinated by the Frattamaggiore Group, began inside a fruit and vegetable shop in Naples. During initial investigations, the financial police discovered that the man, who had previously had no criminal record, was storing approximately 15 grams of marijuana in his shop. This discovery immediately prompted investigators to investigate further.

The blitz in the garage at Casavatore

The police's suspicions were immediately confirmed by a search of a garage located in the municipality of Casavatore, which was found to be fully owned by the dealer. Inside the premises, approximately two kilograms of hashish were found and seized, along with scales and various packaging materials.

The arsenal hidden at home

The investigation was further expanded to the suspect's home and a second garage belonging to him. It was in these areas that the most alarming element emerged: three clandestine pistols with their serial numbers removed, each complete with loaded magazines and ammunition, ready for use.

Locked up in Poggioreale prison

Following the seizures, the man was arrested in flagrante delicto and transferred to the Naples-Poggioreale prison, where he remains at the disposal of the judicial authorities of the Naples North Prosecutor's Office. The case is currently in the preliminary investigation phase, and by virtue of the constitutional principle of innocence, the suspect's status will be definitively assessed only at the trial stage, with a possible final sentence.
