LIVE – Inter are evaluating Malick Fofana if Luis Henrique leaves: Diaby and Nico González are alternatives

Inter are evaluating Malick Fofana as a possible replacement should Luis Henrique leave: Diaby and Nico González are alternatives, but everything remains up in the air between confirmations and rumours.

Inter are still searching for an attacking winger, and Piero Ausilio's name has ended up on Malick Fofana's radar: the 2005 Belgian is under contract with Olympique Lyonnais until June 30, 2028, and the French club signed him from Gent in the winter of 2024. At the moment, his interest is still being evaluated: Lyon has sporting reasons to try to keep him, considering the Champions League play-offs (first leg on August 18/19 and second leg on August 25/26 according to the UEFA calendar), which could push the club not to sell key players.

The Fofana deal is particularly likely if Luis Henrique's departure to Roma were to materialize. However, it's important to note that this latest transfer is not yet official and remains a rumor. If Henrique's sale were to go through, Inter would need a reinforcement on the right or left flank, and are therefore considering several names: Moussa Diaby (born in 1999) from Al-Ittihad—though he's being monitored by Saudi Arabia, and the club appears unwilling to sell him easily—and Nico González, the Argentine who returned to Juventus after a loan spell at Atlético Madrid, are alternatives circulating in transfer rumors.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan continues to explore the English midfield (Liverpool's Curtis Jones has resurfaced) in a scenario of transfers that remains fluid. In short, there's genuine interest in Fofana, but the matter needs to be considered given Lyon's restrictions and developments regarding Henrique; Diaby and Nico González remain plausible options, but they're not guaranteed, with difficulties depending on the wishes of their respective clubs.
