In Maiori, bathers and residents can breathe a sigh of relief: recent tests conducted by ARPAC have confirmed that the seawater fully complies with legal requirements and is therefore safe for swimming. The samples, taken on August 5th with high air (33°C) and sea (29°C) temperatures, ruled out the presence of pathogens such as Escherichia coli and intestinal enterococci, thus ensuring the healthiness of the local sea.

However, vigilance remains high. Further investigations are underway to precisely define the nature of the stain observed in the area. Laboratory analyses aim to determine whether it is mucilage, a natural phenomenon linked to algae growth favored by recent temperatures, or other causes.

The Mayor of Maiori is personally overseeing the operations, coordinating the activities of the relevant bodies to ensure rigorous, scientifically based monitoring. To support this commitment, a second sampling was conducted on the morning of August 6th in the affected body of water, where the presence of the stain has not been consistently observed.

The Municipal Administration ensures maximum transparency and timely information provision to citizens, reaffirming its commitment to protecting public health and the environmental quality of the area.
