Campi Flegrei, over 2.100 people displaced after the July 31 earthquake: checks and interventions continue
The emergency in the Phlegraean Fields continues to require intense efforts from local authorities and rescue workers. Nearly two weeks after the earthquake of July 31, the number of displaced people has risen to 2.172. Of these, 831 families have been affected by evacuation or interdiction orders issued by the Municipality of Pozzuoli, which has ordered the relocation of residents from 198 buildings deemed at risk.
Most of the displaced, 2.060 people, have found independent accommodation, while 112 are staying in hotels. Another 68 people, although not directly affected by the ordinances, have been welcomed at the Palatrincone reception center.
Control and relief operations are coordinated by the Rescue Coordination Center (CCS), activated by the Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, in collaboration with the regional Civil Protection Department and law enforcement. Since the earthquake, firefighters have carried out approximately 1.200 interventions, with 144 still ongoing, and have evacuated a total of 930 homes.
Today, 36 modules were deployed to assess damage to buildings, along with a team specializing in cultural heritage inspections and five teams dedicated to the recovery of household goods. The prefect emphasized the effectiveness of institutional collaboration and the priority given to citizen safety, committing to reducing disruption and providing timely responses to the needs of the affected communities.
