Campi Flegrei: Over 2 people still displaced: 813 families in Pozzuoli have been displaced.

Following the July 31st earthquake, 813 families in Pozzuoli were forced to leave their homes following the technical inspections initiated. A total of 2.129 people are affected by the measures.

Most have found independent accommodation: 2.023 residents have chosen this option, while another 106 are currently staying in hotels. Palatrincone is also housing 65 people, not all of whom have been issued an eviction order.

The report was released during an update meeting of the Rescue Coordination Center, convened by the Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, in agreement with the Department of Civil Protection.

The meeting was also attended by the President of the Campania Region, Roberto Fico, and the regional councilor for Civil Protection, Fiorella Zabatta, connected via the Pozzuoli Municipal Operations Center, as well as the mayors of Pozzuoli, Luigi Manzoni, Bacoli, Josi Gerardo Della Ragione, and Monte di Procida, Salvatore Scotto di Santolo.

A thousand interventions by the Fire Brigade

The Fire Department's work on building inspections continues unabated. Thirty-seven teams are currently operating in Pozzuoli, conducting technical inspections and assessing the safety conditions of the buildings.
In addition to structural inspections, specialized teams are working to recover the furniture and protect the cultural heritage.

1.000 interventions have already been completed, while work continues on the applications still being processed. This is essential to determine which homes can be used again and which require further safety improvements.

Water, 68 reports already resolved

Meanwhile, there are also positive signs regarding the restoration of essential services.
Regarding the water network, of the 73 reports recorded, 68 have already been resolved. Therefore, some critical issues remain, and work is continuing to address them.

Traffic conditions remain under observation. A joint inspection has been scheduled for Monday, August 10th, to determine the necessary measures to ensure the road's safety.

The hub on Via Artiaco is underway

Among the interventions considered strategic is the start of construction of the HUB on Via Artiaco, a structure envisaged by the municipal Civil Protection plan to address the risk of bradyseism.

The goal is to strengthen the area's response capacity in the event of an emergency and ensure a single point of contact for assistance to the population.

This work is particularly important given the situation in the Phlegraean Fields and the need to maintain the civil protection system's high organizational capacity.

The Flavian Amphitheater and Baia Castle reopen

Progress has also been made on the cultural heritage front. The Flavian Amphitheater has reopened to the public, albeit with limited access, as has the Aragonese Castle of Baia.

For several other archaeological sites, according to what has emerged from the update, no further critical issues have emerged beyond those already identified.

The gradual reopening of cultural venues represents another sign of a return to normality in an area that continues to be constantly monitored.

"The situation remains under constant monitoring, but the updated data send a clear message: we continue to intervene, we are gradually resolving critical issues, and we are working concretely to bring the areas back to full normality," emphasized the Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari.

The priority, the prefect reiterated, remains ensuring the safety of citizens and reducing the disruption caused by the emergency. This objective requires the coordinated efforts of all local institutions and operational structures.
