A man from Eboli was reported for building two unauthorized ramps on the Sele River, causing environmental damage in a protected area.

Man charged with illegally modifying the Sele River embankment and dumping waste
The Carabinieri forestry officers of Capaccio-Paestum have reported a man living in Eboli for modifying the right bank of the Sele River without permission. The modification involved the construction of two ramps providing direct access to the riverbed, used to draw water for agricultural irrigation. During the inspections, they also discovered large quantities of non-hazardous waste deposited along the river. The illegal construction and waste are located within the Foce Sele-Tanagro Regional Nature Reserve, an area protected for both its landscape and environmental protection. The military's intervention is part of surveillance activities aimed at preventing damage to river ecosystems and combating illegal interventions that compromise their conservation.
