An image of the escape
Moments of pure terror erupted on Ancón Beach, Marbella, where a swimmer swimming just meters from the shore suddenly found himself chased by a large marine mammal. The sight of a fin slicing through the water triggered widespread alarm: the shape, reminiscent of a shark, prompted dozens of people to rush to shore, fearing an imminent attack.
The tension, however, dissipated within minutes. The supposed "lethal creature" finally washed ashore, revealing its true identity: a majestic bluefin tuna weighing approximately 300 kilograms, which had drifted to the edge of the beach, likely injured or disoriented by illness.
Once the initial shock had passed, fear turned to solidarity. Several bystanders ventured into the water to assist the giant of the sea, carefully escorting it and helping it weather the undertow until the fish found its way back, finally setting sail amid the applause of witnesses.
