Naples Weather September 20st
Naples – Saturday, August 29, 2026, is still a midsummer day in Campania. The intense heat has not yet left the region, although temperatures have slightly eased compared to the peak reached between Thursday and Friday. Temperatures remain above seasonal averages and are somewhat muggy, especially along the coast.
According to the latest forecast, the maximum temperature in Naples will be around 34-35 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of around 26 degrees Celsius. The sky will be partly cloudy to cloudy, with more clouds in the middle of the day but no significant weather events.
The regional climate remains decidedly hot. Temperatures could reach 35 degrees in Salerno, 36 in Avellino, and 37 degrees in Benevento and Caserta. Inland areas will therefore be most affected by the heatwave, while along the coast, the heat will be accompanied by humidity levels that could make the temperature feel more severe.
The Campania Civil Protection Department has maintained its heat wave warning until 8:00 PM on Sunday, August 30, reporting temperatures 6-7 degrees above seasonal averages and high humidity, especially in the evening and nighttime hours in coastal areas.
In Naples, the day is expected to pass without significant precipitation. The forecast calls for scattered clouds starting in the morning, with more cloud cover in the middle of the day, and temperatures around 33-34 degrees Celsius. In the afternoon, temperatures could reach 34-35 degrees Celsius, while in the evening, it will remain quite warm, with temperatures nearing 30 degrees.
The rest of Campania will be mostly stable, although some cloudy periods will be present. According to 3B Meteo, clouds will alternate with clearings throughout the day, with a tendency for clearings to become more widespread in the evening.
Strengthening winds and calm seas
Winds will be predominantly westerly or southwesterly, generally light in the morning but with some strengthening in the middle of the day. In Naples, the sea is expected to be calm, with moderate waves.
For those choosing Campania's beaches, conditions will be generally favorable, but it's still advisable to avoid direct exposure to the sun during the hottest hours of the day and to pay particular attention to children, the elderly, and vulnerable people.
An initial improvement in the heat is expected on Sunday, August 30th, when temperatures are expected to drop slightly. The decline, however, will be gradual: the heat wave will remain active until Sunday evening, while the weather should gradually become more comfortable in the following days.
In short, for Naples and Campania it will be another hot and fully summery Saturday: sun alternating with clouds, highs between 34 and 37 degrees, muggy weather especially along the coast and no real cool weather on the horizon yet.
