Naples, October 1, 2026 – A fire broke out this morning on private land near the Longola archaeological site, in the municipality of Poggiomarino. The flames were quickly contained by firefighters, assisted by local police, who prevented the fire from spreading beyond the affected area.

The Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, announced the circumstances of the incident, expressing his firm condemnation of the incident and extending his heartfelt thanks to the Fire Brigade for their prompt and effective response.
