Naples, shock in the Conocal neighborhood: a twelve-year-old boy injured with two stab wounds.

A night of violence has brought the security crisis to the forefront in the eastern suburbs of Naples. Around 11:15 PM, Carabinieri officers from the Ponticelli station responded to the Villa Betania hospital, where a 12-year-old boy with two stab wounds to the abdomen had been taken.

According to an initial reconstruction, which is still being verified, the minor was involved in an argument with a peer. The attack occurred in the Conocal neighborhood, on Via del Flauto Magico.
Fortunately, the twelve-year-old's condition is not particularly worrying: he is hospitalized for observation but is not thought to be in danger of dying.

The Carabinieri reconstruct the dynamics

The Poggioreale Company's officers immediately began investigations to clarify the exact circumstances of the incident, identify the person responsible for the injury, and understand the causes that led to the escalation of violence.

Investigators are collecting testimonies and verifying all useful elements to reconstruct what happened in the Conocal neighborhood.

During the inspection, an arrest was made for drugs.

During the inspection of the scene of the attack, the Carabinieri noticed a group of people hastily moving away when the patrol arrived.

The suspicious behavior led the officers to arrest a 32-year-old local man, already known to law enforcement. The man was found in possession of a quantity of hashish.

A subsequent search, which included his nearby home, allowed Carabinieri from the Naples Poggioreale Police Station to find and seize another 50 grams of the same narcotic. The 32-year-old was then arrested.

Two episodes that illustrate the critical issues of the neighborhood

The stabbing of the twelve-year-old and the subsequent drug arrest, while not directly related to the current investigation, paint a picture of a complex area, where law enforcement is engaged daily in combating crime and urban decay.
Investigations are continuing to identify the peer who allegedly injured the minor and shed light on an incident that brings to light the increasingly pressing issue of youth violence in the city's suburbs.
