Mondragone, over 100 doses of cocaine seized: 23-year-old drug dealer arrested

Mondragone – A targeted local check resulted in an arrest and the seizure of over 100 doses of cocaine. The incident occurred late yesterday evening, August 11th, in Mondragone, where Carabinieri from the Territorial Unit intervened as part of their efforts to combat drug dealing and distribution.

The control in Via Castel Volturno

The operation began on Via Castel Volturno, near a gas station. Here, officers from the Operations Section of the Operations and Mobile Unit subjected a 23-year-old local man to a check.

The investigation led to a personal search and, subsequently, a house search. During the investigation, a significant quantity of cocaine, already divided into doses, was found, along with material believed to be functional in the drug's packaging.

Cocaine, cash and packaging material

Overall, the Carabinieri seized over 100 doses of cocaine, for a total quantity estimated at over 70 grams, 430 euros in cash, and packaging materials.
Drugs, money, and equipment were seized and made available to the judicial authorities for further investigation.

Arrested and transferred to house arrest

The 23-year-old was arrested in flagrante delicto. Based on the current investigation and the evidence gathered, he is considered to be seriously suspected of violating Article 73, paragraph 1, of Presidential Decree 309/1990, regarding the production, trafficking, and illicit possession of narcotic or psychotropic substances.

Following the formal procedures, by order of the competent judicial authority, the 23-year-old was placed under house arrest in his home.

The suspect's position remains under judicial review and will need to be verified as the proceedings proceed, in compliance with the presumption of innocence and the guarantees provided by law.

Controls against drug dealing

The operation is part of a broader territorial control effort implemented by the Mondragone Carabinieri Territorial Unit to combat the drug trade.

Targeted operations aim to identify not only individual drug dealing incidents, but also the channels through which drugs are brought into the local market. The seizure of cocaine, along with the discovery of cash and packaging materials, is the result of one of the enforcement activities implemented by the Carabinieri to curb the spread of narcotics in the area.
