"Drug dealing to make ends meet," unemployed pusher arrested in Pollena Trocchia

Pollena Trocchia - A seemingly routine check, then the man's agitation and the Carabinieri decided to investigate further. This is how a 35-year-old man with no criminal record got into trouble in Pollena Trocchia, arrested by officers from the Cercola station on charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

The incident occurred on Via Apicella. According to the Carabinieri's reconstruction, the 35-year-old displayed particularly nervous behavior during the check. This behavior prompted the officers to proceed with the search.

Thirteen doses of cocaine and 300 euros

During the investigation, 13 doses of cocaine were found and seized, pre-packaged and believed to be intended for retail sale. Along with the drugs, €300 in cash was also recovered, a sum that is currently being investigated to determine its possible connection to drug dealing.

In front of the soldiers, the 35-year-old explained that he started selling drugs out of financial necessity, claiming he did it to make ends meet.

This justification didn't prevent his arrest. The man has been placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities and remains awaiting trial. Investigations are now continuing to trace his suppliers, his client base, and determine whether he was dealing on behalf of anyone.

The phenomenon of the unsuspected

Pollena Trocchia's arrest comes at a time when other cases of alleged drug dealers with no criminal record have been recorded in various areas of the province of Naples.

On June 6, in Gragnano, the Carabinieri arrested a 23-year-old with no criminal record after being found with 200 grams of marijuana and a precision scale.

On July 24, in Castellammare di Stabia, another 23-year-old with no criminal record was arrested after being stopped on a scooter: according to the Carabinieri, he was carrying 31 doses of hashish, approximately 5 grams of marijuana, and 320 euros in cash.

And just the day before Pollena's arrest, on August 11th, in Capodimonte, the Carabinieri arrested a 32-year-old man with no criminal record, found with hashish and marijuana. At his home, they seized additional blocks of hashish and marijuana, as well as packaging materials and €360.

These episodes vary in quantity, method, and context, but they all share a common thread: retail drug dealing can involve even people with no criminal record and seemingly unrelated to the criminal networks known to law enforcement.

The Pollena case now adds another piece to this picture: a 35-year-old with no criminal record, 13 doses of cocaine ready for sale, and an explanation tied to financial hardship. The judicial process will determine the man's responsibilities.
