Following the earthquake that struck the Campi Flegrei on July 31, the Campania Region's priority is to facilitate the return of displaced people to their homes.

Currently, approximately 3.300 people have been forced to leave their homes, but the damage reported in the closed homes is not serious, suggesting a return within a reasonable timeframe. Regional Council President Roberto Fico reiterated the importance of facilitating renovation work to expedite this process.

In addition to supporting the displaced, efforts are also underway to support businesses affected by the earthquakes. These issues were the focus of the latest meeting of the Relief Coordination Center, chaired by the Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, and will be further explored at the regional council meeting convened for August 27.

At the same time, work is underway to secure the slopes, with an increase in the powers of the Special Commissioner, a measure included in the government decree currently being implemented. The meeting was attended by President Fico, Mario Casillo, Vice President for Transport, and Fiorella Zabatta, Councilor for Civil Protection, confirming the coordinated institutional commitment to addressing the situation.
