Pozzuoli Mayor Luigi Manzoni met with Regional Councillor for Productive Activities Fulvio Bonavitacola to discuss business support and the relocation of the fish market, with the aim of fostering the economic recovery of the Phlegraean Fields.

Pozzuoli and the Campania Region join forces to revitalize the fish market and support local businesses.
In a meeting held on August 20, 2026, Pozzuoli Mayor Luigi Manzoni discussed strategies to support local businesses and commercial activities with Campania's regional councilor for Productive Activities, Fulvio Bonavitacola.
At the heart of the discussion was the request for support for the relocation of the fish market, aimed at creating a large market hub capable of revitalizing the local economy. Both parties called for the establishment of a dedicated observatory made up of the Region, the Chamber of Commerce, representative trade associations, and the municipalities of the Phlegraean Fields area.
This body would be responsible for monitoring and promoting measures to support the resumption of production and commercial activities. The initiative aims to foster an economic and social rebirth in the Pozzuoli area, which has been severely impacted by the crisis in recent years.
