The City of Science has published a call for applications for a new general director.

The renewal process of the IDIS-Città della Scienza Foundation is in full swing. A public notice has been published for the selection of a new Director General, who will lead the organization's organizational structure and implement the strategic guidelines for the three-year period 2026-2029.

The selection follows the recent appointments of the Foundation's new institutional leadership, composed of astrophysicist Giovanni Covone, president, and physicist Antigone Marino, vice president.

The new Director General will have a high-level managerial profile, with legal, economic, and management expertise. Among the objectives set by the new governance structure is the consolidation of Città della Scienza's role as an international hub for scientific, cultural, and technological dissemination, business incubation, and urban regeneration in the Bagnoli area.

"With the announcement of the call for applications for the General Director, we are laying a fundamental foundation for the continued operation of our institution," declared President Giovanni Covone.

"We are strengthening the management body with excellent managerial skills, capable of combining administrative rigor, the ability to attract resources, and the promotion of innovation, with the aim of guiding the Foundation towards increasingly ambitious challenges," added Covone.

Applications must be submitted no later than 4:00 PM on September 10, 2026. The selection process represents one of the first concrete steps in the Foundation's new management phase, which will define and implement strategies for the next three years.
