The heat returns tomorrow
The heat continues to grip Central and Southern Italy. High temperatures will continue to dominate the coming days, with worsening risk conditions in some cities. This is reported in the Ministry of Health's heatwave bulletin, which monitors a total of 27 urban centers.
On Friday, August 21, an orange alert, corresponding to alert level 2, is expected in Bari, Campobasso, Palermo, and Pescara. These weather conditions may pose a health risk, particularly for the most vulnerable segments of the population.
The situation is set to become even more critical on Saturday, August 22. Bari and Palermo will be marked with a red dot, level 3, indicating climate emergency conditions with possible negative health effects even for healthy and active people, not just the elderly, very young children, and vulnerable individuals.
Naples is also among the cities being monitored, which will be under a yellow warning on Saturday, along with Ancona, Campobasso, Catania, Latina, Messina, Pescara, Reggio Calabria, and Rome.
The yellow level indicates a pre-alert situation, with weather conditions that may precede higher risk levels.
The other cities monitored by the Ministry of Health – Bologna, Bolzano, Brescia, Cagliari, Civitavecchia, Florence, Frosinone, Genoa, Milan, Perugia, Rieti, Turin, Trieste, Venice, Verona, and Viterbo – will not be affected by similar alert levels on Saturday.
