August 15th in Naples: Two drug dealers arrested in the Traiano district.

During the Ferragosto holidays, the Carabinieri of Naples carried out a series of extraordinary checks in various neighborhoods, resulting in drug seizures, reports, and fines for traffic violations.

To mark the Ferragosto holiday, the Carabinieri of the Naples Provincial Command launched a large-scale territorial control operation that involved numerous neighborhoods of the city, focusing on the busiest areas both during the day and at night.

In the Soccavo neighborhood, on Via Catone in the Traiano district, Carabinieri officers from the Bagnoli Company's Operational Unit arrested two men, aged 53 and 41, inside a premises used for drug dealing. During the operation, they seized 5,30 grams of cocaine, 2 grams of crack, 31 grams of marijuana, 22 grams of hashish, packaging materials, €402 in cash, a video surveillance system, and a flex.

In the Bagnoli neighborhood, 107 people, including 58 with criminal records, and 43 vehicles were checked. Among the violations detected, a 65-year-old man was reported for concealing his scooter's license plate with the intent of avoiding checks at the ZTL (limited traffic zone) gate on Via Ferdinando Russo in Posillipo. Two other people were reported for violating the DACUR (limited traffic area) access ban, while three individuals were reported to the Prefecture for possession of small quantities of narcotics. Additionally, two people were fined for illegal parking.

On the road safety front, 11 fines were issued for a total of over 10.600 euros.

In the "Baretti" area of ​​Chiaia, the military, along with personnel from the Naples Local Health Authority (ASL Napoli 1), also conducted checks, resulting in two people being reported: a 38-year-old Neapolitan man found with 7 grams of cocaine and two knives, and a 24-year-old Romanian tourist caught stealing cosmetics worth €130. Two people were also reported for drug use. In this area, 16 traffic violations were reported, out of 91 people and 35 vehicles checked.

The inspections also extended to commercial establishments, with two establishments found to have serious hygiene and sanitation deficiencies, resulting in eight regulatory requirements from the competent authorities.

These extraordinary checks demonstrate the commitment of law enforcement to ensuring safety and public order during the holidays, striving to combat illegal activities and ensure compliance with current regulations.
