Naples, 23-year-old stabbed in Via Duomo

Naples – Another episode of youth violence on the streets of Naples. It happened last night. A twenty-three-year-old man, already known to law enforcement but with no confirmed ties to the gangs, presented himself to the emergency room at Pellegrini Hospital with multiple stab wounds.

As is standard procedure, medics alerted the police to the presence of an injured person. The boy told officers at the Montecalvario police station that a stranger had approached him while he was riding his scooter on Via Duomo, struck him in cold blood, and left him bleeding on the asphalt.

A sparse version, devoid of real details, which investigators believe conceals the outlines of a full-blown punitive expedition, likely linked to recent tensions among local gangs. He was released from prison with a fourteen-day prognosis.

Investigators are now trying to understand the injured man's social life, as well as gathering footage from public and private security cameras in the area where the attack occurred. These footage will help them determine if the man's version of events is true and identify his attackers.
