Melito, 'You'll have a blow to your forehead tonight': the threat broadcast live from the police station before the arrest.

The shadow of violence didn't even stop at his home, where he was supposed to be serving his sentence. In Melito di Napoli, a 28-year-old man already under house arrest for drug offenses was arrested in flagrante delicto by the Carabinieri of the local station. The man now faces charges of stalking, escape, and possession of narcotics with intent to distribute.

The operation took place on the sidelines of a tense day. Shortly after 14:20 PM, a desperate call from a 28-year-old woman arrived on the station's landline: "You mustn't leave the house, otherwise it will end badly if I come over." This was the text of the message she had just received from her ex-partner. Fearful for her own safety and that of her young daughter, the victim was urged by the police to come immediately to the station to file a complaint.

Nine years of terror

Arriving at the police station at 15:00 PM, the woman recounted to investigators a nine-year cycle of harassment. A nightmare that culminated on August 19th with her decision to end all contact, to which the man responded by bombarding her with calls and texts from various numbers.

Disturbing details have been released: a video from last May in which the 28-year-old displayed a kitchen knife and threatened to stab her in the head; a late-night voicemail in August promising to shave her hair; and a break-in at the victim's apartment building in March 2024, when, violating house arrest, he allegedly kicked the elevator, blocking it between floors. Previous assaults also include physical assaults, such as one in November 2023, when the woman was kicked, punched in the face, and strangled.

The threat was broadcast live in front of the military

The decisive moment of the day occurred at 15:45 PM, just as the officers were recording the 28-year-old's story. The victim's cell phone rang from a private number. At the officers' direction, the woman answered on speakerphone: "You've got a blow to your forehead tonight, I promise... when you go to the party... in two months, when I go out, you'll have the problem." A direct threat, made before the eyes and ears of the Carabinieri, aimed at preventing the woman from going out that evening.

The raid and the seizure at home

At that point, the raid began. At 19:00 PM, the Carabinieri showed up at the home where the young man was supposed to be under arrest. Finding the house empty, the officers waited for him to return, which occurred half an hour later.

The subsequent house search confirmed the accusation: on the table, the smartphone containing 42 outgoing calls to his ex-partner and the long-bladed knife used in the threatening video were found. The searches also uncovered approximately 40 grams of hashish, precision scales, and drug packaging materials. The man was transferred to prison pending a validation hearing.
