Casoria, kidnapped and shot in the leg: three arrests
Casoria – A trivial discussion escalated into a full-blown punitive operation, with a twenty-four-year-old man first forced into a car, then brutally beaten, and finally shot in the legs in a remote location. More than two years after the attack, the alleged perpetrators are being arrested.
At dawn this morning, Carabinieri officers from the Casoria Company's Operational Section served a precautionary detention order—issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Naples at the request of the local prosecutor's office—against three individuals. All are charged with aggravated assault and illegal possession and carrying of a firearm.
The events date back to the night of March 4, 2024. Initially, the reconstruction of the incident seemed unclear, due to the young victim's initial statements, which contained obvious inconsistencies and uncertainties. However, the police didn't stop at the initial versions and dug deeper, cross-referencing evidence and testimonies until they pieced together the full picture of the incident.
According to investigators' reconstruction, a heated argument broke out between the young victim and the group on the night of the attack. The gang's reaction was ruthless: they allegedly forced the 24-year-old into a car and drove him to a secluded area.
There, along with other individuals who are being identified, the attackers first surrounded him and violently beat him, then closed the matter by firing a gunshot that hit him squarely in the leg.
Investigations are continuing to identify the other accomplices who allegedly took part in the raid.
