Yesterday morning, two off-duty officers from the Afragola Police Station and the Rome Police Headquarters arrested a 39-year-old man for robbery, resisting arrest, and assaulting a public official. While traveling along Corso Cesare Battisti in Cardito, the officers witnessed a man quickly exiting a store with a cash register; a second person was chasing him.
After the operators were identified, a fight broke out, requiring the intervention of a patrol car from the Afragola Police Station. The suspect was arrested; during the incident, he attempted to get rid of the cash register, which was recovered by officers and returned to its rightful owner.
Following investigations, it emerged that the man had shortly before threatened the shop owner and taken the stolen goods. Based on these details, the arrest was made by the officers.
