Summer data indicates a strong tourist season, even outside of major destinations. ASMEL 2026 officially opens two professional profiles designed to support municipalities and villages in promoting their local area and organizing festivals and events.

Growing local tourism: ASMEL 2026 inaugurates two profiles for the promotion and management of events in municipalities.
Domestic tourism remains vibrant even outside of major destinations, with concrete signs emerging from the summer of 2026. According to data from the Ministry of Tourism, each year there are over 20 festivals, 48 million visitors, and approximately €2,1 billion in related activities, along with approximately 10.500 jobs. These numbers confirm the importance of events, traditions, and local development as key components of the tourism offerings of thousands of municipalities, and the growing need for professionals capable of promoting the local area, planning initiatives, and managing events.
In response to this demand for skills, ASMEL 2026 is offering two profiles from the 39 listed in the Maxi Notice: Tourism Instructor and Communications and Event Management Officer. These positions are designed to support municipalities in promoting their food, wine, and cultural heritage, organizing festivals and events, and communicating about them, offering operational input in both the promotion and actual management of local events.
Regarding requirements, a Tourism Instructor can be hired with a high school diploma or a bachelor's degree in Tourism Sciences. A Communications and Event Management Officer requires a bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences (L-20) or Humanities (L-10), or a first-level AFAM diploma. These requirements reflect a shift in the professional skills required by the Public Administration: not only technical and administrative profiles, but also skills related to communication, promotion, and the ability to attract local resources.
This innovation isn't limited to large cities: opportunities can also arise in the communities where people live, in small towns, villages, and inland areas, where events and traditions are drivers of local attraction and development. The Maxi Notice allows you to apply for multiple profiles: after passing the remote selection process, you'll be placed on the eligible lists, valid for three years, from which organizations can draw through subsequent calls.
Applications are open until 12:00 PM on September 30, 2026. This opportunity offers a concrete opportunity for young people and professionals interested in building a public career focused on tourism promotion, event management, and local heritage enhancement.
