Naples, platforms tested: the Lungomare becomes a grandstand

The countdown separating Naples from the start of the preliminary regattas of the 38th Louis Vuitton America's Cup isn't just measuring team times or traffic reorganizations. It's reshaping the Neapolitan coastline: a laboratory of inclusion, spectacle, and a new relationship between the city and its most precious asset, the sea.

Along the Via Caracciolo seafront, the coastline has already changed. Temporary platforms on the rocks have been completed and tested: special stands to closely follow the foiling racers' maneuvers. Access is free. By decision of the Municipality, a priority lane and dedicated areas remain reserved for people with disabilities and vulnerable groups.

Beyond the Cup: The Betting on the Public Sea

The project doesn't intend to end with the regattas. Mayor Gaetano Manfredi stated: "The platforms were created for the America's Cup, but we intend to look beyond. If this experiment yields the desired results, we will work closely with the authorities and the Superintendency to ensure that these platforms can be repositioned during the summer months, expanding direct access to the sea for residents and tourists."

Nisida opens, Race Village closes with music

Sport and culture go hand in hand, under the direction of the Municipality and Sport and Health, the implementing body appointed by the Government. The week kicks off on Tuesday on the Nisida terrace: Edoardo Bennato will bring his dreamy rock music, accompanied by a lyrical rendition of 'O sole mio' by tenor Gaetano Amore and soprano Irene Scarpato. On Sunday, September 27, at the Race Village, after the awards ceremony, the Main Stage is expected to light up with a free concert starting at 7:30 p.m. The name of the band remains a surprise. The concert is open to the entire city.
